I Just Realized Something

It's all gravy, baby, all gravy!

Mea culpa...

Hello, everyone. I'm a new member, but by no means a new Frollophile. The icon for this community is just hilarious, and I wholeheartedly agree, the man really needs a lay *gets in line to volunteer* XD.

So, as a present to you all, though it's really nothing much, I present (haha, pun slightly intended), my first attempt at sketching everyone's favourite pious hypocrite...along with my own version of La Esmeralda, with a boa constrictor...? Yay.

Hope you like. If you don't...*shrug*, I got nothin'. Well, I lie: perhaps if you checked out the rest of my gallery on deviantart where this image is hosted, you might find something you like. I didn't use any picture reference on this, and he was done entirely in pen. It's pretty scribbly, so the "disheveled sexy fireplace hair" effect that I was going for may be lost, but whatever.

So, basically, je t'adore Monsieur Frollo, et je veux couchez avec il, ce soir XD. Pardon my bad French, je parles un petit peux. Latin, too. Gotta love that Latin.

I'm also looking for RPG partners in this fandom, as well as various other Disney films, so if you're interested, drop me a line and we'll try to figure something out. I have quite a history of roleplaying, both online and in real life, but it's been awhile and I may be a tad rusty, but I'm quick to get back into the swing of things. I'm just trying to connect with people of similar interests (that's what this sort of thing is for, after all, is it not?), and I'm open to discussion about the Disney film from whence Judge Claude Frollo came...not so much the book, as I'm only just beginning to read the complete and unabridged version. My mom read the dumbed-down version for young adults to my sister and I after the film came out, so I understand that the film and book versions differ immensely. Still, I love all things Frollo. That's why I'm here :D.

Disappointment re: translated musical

I'm rather disappointed that the translated versions replace Je sens ma vie qui bascule, which leads beautifully into Tu vas me détruire, with a few lines for Quasimodo. It breaks the mood.

My parents took me out drinking...yep...

God, I love my mum and dad!

They came over for the weekend to visit. I miss my parents a lot when they're not here, even when they're annoying me a little. It's cool when they stay here because it's my flat and I make the rules bitch! The weather's been pretty miserable so we didn't do much for fear of the wind cutting us in half. We had a nice pub dinner last night before going ou for drinks. I think my parents forgot how expensive pubs are in Edinburgh, my dad made some very interesting expressions handing over his money last night. We even went to Cafe Habana for a drink. Yep, not only did I go out drinking with my mum and dad, we went to a gay bar! I love my family. There was a mini cabaret event for World AIDS Day so these two drag queens did a little show. I hate that those guys looked so good in short sparkly dresses whereas I just look like a really unconvincing hippo. And they could walk in heels! Not fair! Today we went to the museum and did a bit of shopping. We were going to walk around the Xmas market but it was far far too cold for that and we ended up running back to the warmth of my room. Hopefully I'll be home in a couple of weeks after the exams.

That was a boring, short entry so just so I haven't completely wasted your time, here are a few links of interest:

Spill.Com review New Moon. Anything that involves mocking this series is fine by me.
This Week in Tabloids. I read way more trashy magazines than I should (I like to read while I eat but I don't want to cover all my good books in food and sauce so I read stuff I don't mind semi-drooling over.) and the cover stories in American tabloids just blow ours out of the water (and no Jordan - Yay!)
Empire's review of The Lovely Bones. I hated the book but Saoirse Ronan combined with Peter Jackson and this review have heightened by interest in the movie. I always thought the visuals of the book were better suited to film. Ronan 2010 Oscar please?
"It's okay, I understand Adam Lambert made you feel funny." I know nothing about American Idol, nor do I have any interest in the winners, but the total non-controversy that is that rather hot guy making out on stage with another rather hot guy is so much ado about nothing and I think Feministing pretty much nail it on the head.
Anderson Cooper at CNN Heroes 2009, as told by Dlisted. MK has a crush on Anderson, can you tell?
Geeky Soaps! Who want to buy me Star Trek soap?
Peter Capaldi on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Capaldi and Ferguson took acid together. And used to be in bad punk rock bands. And they're Scottish. Representing my people! If you haven't seen The Thick of It or In The Loop, watch them both immediately. For certain Americans on my F-List, Peter's character is like a Scottish version of Rahm Emanuel. ;)
The Last Station trailer. Johnny Sessions, I adore you more than I really should. Please never grow facial hair again. That is all.

Notre Dame de Paris - Barcelona Cast Recording

I uploaded this for Jackks, but if anybody else would like this they are free to take it. It's the Barcelona Cast Album of NDdP and it's pretty damn amazing. The only fault that I've noticed is that in Hablame de Florencia, The track skips a few seconds around the :30 mark which kind of gets to me. Other than that the rest is fine to my knowledge, but I'm listening to it now to double check (I just found this today). I'm trying to find another link that's flawless.

A request and a gift

Hello everybody,

I'm sort of new to LiveJournal so I'm still trying to figure out some stuff. I was wondering if any of you have the Classical version of NDdP that I Fiamminghi recorded. I listened to clips to it and I loved what I heard. Here's some more info on it

http://castalbumcollector.com/recordings/5599

And as a bribe (or a gift, however you want to put it) here's a full audio of the 2001 London Cast. Unfortunately it is not the original cast, but some of the performers are pretty good (personally I can't stand Ian Pirie as Quasimodo). Also the entire audio is split into two tracks, one for each act.

More Music

The soundtracks from the 1939 and 1956 film versions are available on CD:
Alfred Newman, 1939
Georges Auric, 1956.
There's also an interesting-sounding musical from 1997 which actually includes Pâquette as a character! I've ordered this, as I'm curious about it. Claude has a song called Alchemy.

Brigit's Flame - The Sheik

This is a just-for-fun submission to Brigit's Flame for Week 4. The Topic this week was "Gun." Well, that's pretty straight-foward, isn't it?
Anyway, this actually inspired by an article on Cracked.com: http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-8-manliest-images-on-the-internet/ Everything from the Sheik to the motocycle to ridiculous portal fire, all I really added was the AK-47 and the conversation in the bank. Anyway! Hope you enjoy!

Good Quality Marakulin Bootlegs

So, as we all know, only an abridged version of the soundtrack with Marakulin was officially produced. This is kinda sad tragic. But, in my explorations of the internet, I've come across a few unofficial bootleg mp3s that are actually of pretty high quality - Check em out.

Колдунья/La Sorcière - Features a very sexy dip in pitch that makes me giggle everytime =P

So this Guy Offered Me a Job

So question:
You go into a store that sells really amazing stuff and you think, "Man, this stuff is so amazing." You ask the owner how he comes across all these amazing things, and he tells you about how he travels around the world on a regular basis, talking to artists and collectors and just buying stuff in shops and bazaars. Of course, because you especially hate your job at the moment, you think, "My God, I wish I could do something like that for a living." Then he says, "Would you like to work for me?" /GASP!
What do you do?
I demanded $22 an hour and told him I have an obligation the weekend after New Years Eve. My cousin pointed out that this was a mute point as he was only looking to sex me up, and my mother offered a similar opinion, only she used the word "rape."

Fanfic: Forgiveness

This is a bit old, but it's the only completely Hugo-based fic I've written so far, so I thought I would share. I might share some of my non-Hugo ones as well.

Title: Forgiveness
Couple: None (kind've Quasi/Emse?)
Adaptation: Novel (Victor Hugo)
Summary: Esmeralda's thoughts before she is hung. One-shot
Other: Please excuse any spelling or grammar errors, and enjoy!

How can she ask for forgiveness if she doesn't even know the crime she's commited? )
